ImmunoCAP Specific IgE test - the ideal immunoassay for allergen-specific IgE measurement

Although several commercially available in vitro options claim quantitative measurement of specific IgE, studies show results measured by ImmunoCAP systems are the most accurate, and are truly quantitative over the whole measuring range (1)

Characteristics of A Truly Quantitative Specific IgE Test

(2, 3, 4, 5)
  • Recovery of Antibodies - Excess of allergen minimizes interference by high levels of total IgE or other antibodies, and allows capture of important epitopes. Cross testing of calibrators and dilution recovery linearity tests in method comparison studies demonstrates test performance. Download (pdf) a CLSI/NCCLS-protocol based comparison study.

  • Parallelism -linearity upon dilution for reportable measuring rangeand down to the 0.1kUA/L limit of detection and quantitation.

  • Multipoint calibration curve traceable to the WHO reference preparation 75/502 for IgE Click here to view Curve Overlay

  • High Precision -  With the fully automated ImmunoCAP instrumentation (ImmunoCAP 100E, ImmunoCAP 250, and ImmunoCAP 1000 systems), intra-assay CV's are less than 15% across the full measuring range regardless of allergen selected. Read more »
